Default vintage steward warner tack help

I am still trying to find out how this tack is wired.
There is one on ebay identical to mine.
do you agree with the seller that the tack does not need a
sender??

Ask big Steve... (68l30) He knows all about how these tachs work... Unfortunately I just know how to buy 'em and put em in my display case.

You could try this guy. SW Tach
Maybe he could scan the instructions and send them to you. I do not know how to hook it up off hand. There are only a few ways it could be hooked up. The housing will be grounded, one red terminal will be 12 volt, and one terminal will be negative side of the coil.

Not exactly sure if yours will need a sender or not. I looked at the sellers it does not look like some I've seen that require a sender. Those usually have screw terminals on the back for wiring up the sender. Stewart Warner has reissued the Greenline gauges and the new tach does not require a sender. You may can check their site out for some instructions. On these tachs and gauges...I see some sellers on Ebay who claim they have NOS sets of these when they are playing with the words and the gauges are actually brand new sets that anyone can get from Summit Racing. Sorry for the rant off the post.

I checked the SW site and didn't see anything about the re-issue of the greenline gauges. Do you have any more info on this?

I think it has been discussed here before. One type of tach and various gauges are readily available.

Are the original ones still worth a couple of bucks then?

Go to www.sw-performance.com
Seems when you type in Stewart Warner that a few other sites come up, but I think this is the companies site. You can also go to Summit Racing and search for SW greenline gauges. They have them in stock. The tach is $204.95 last time I looked. It is not the pedestal type and requires a cup to mount. I watch the tachs all the time and see very nice originals ones go for over well over $200 especially the pedestal mounts.

Its a Dixco cup. I would just quick touch the wires to the terminals on the tach in both configurations and see which one works.
