I'm not sure about the '70 emblem, but I know the '69 was a cast piece. There is a gentleman in my neighbourhood who is the original owner of a Pace Car which still has the original emblem.
The car has been sitting for many years, and it is not for sale. Everyone knows about it and has tried to buy it. The good part is that it is sitting in his garage. I'm sure someone will luck out at his estate sale.

This one appears to be diecast. I sent pictures to Bob and Peter so perhaps one of them can post the shots. I haven't sat down long enough to figure out the photo process. Too much work to be done in the garage.

That wasn't so hard after all. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Just don't tell the wife.

I don;' believe the one I saw on the Pace Car was a rectangular one. It was cast but it was the letters all tied together.
The one in Keith's picture may be correct for '70.
the next time I drive by and the Pace Car guy is in his garage, I'll ask whether I can have another look at it. He's a pretty private guy, so he's not too cooperative.

The car that I took the pictures of is pretty original and needs a restoration. I really don't know anything about the emblems. I just took the picture of what I saw. I rather doubt that this was added later based on the condition of the car. Who knows?
