Default ebay scam alert (just letting you know)

i had recently posted a mach 1 427 car on ebay and i had gotten 3 e mails from different people telling me there was a car just like mine on another auction, and they all gave a different thread to get to it. as soon as you hit the thread that they have sent you, it pops up that you have to provide your name and password, now i have this 837 alternator on ebay and the same thing is going on, 2 e mails that say they want to bid but are confused because my item is listed twice, and they give me a thread to click on, WHEN IS THIS CRAP GOING TO END i turn them in when i see them but how many people are going to get screwed by this. these guys always give there name when they do this, Hi my name is Tom javar .... .... .. .

The exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. I clicked on the link in his email and it brought up another ebay sign on screen. The hacker created that screen so he could get my password and use my account. He deleted all the bids I had on an auction with only a few hours left on it. I couldn't edit or delete the auction, so I had a buddy send me a question about the item, then I posted my reply which was a warning to everyone that it had been hacked and it was void.
Then I contacted ebay through their help chat and they backed me up. Declared the auction was hacked, notified all the other bidders to let them know as well. They were very good about it. They suspended my account, then I reopened it with a new password, and I kept all my old feedback as well.
Don't EVER click on a link in an email from anyone!!!

That one got me last month. Someone listed like 40k worth of Kubota tractors as a buy it now under my account. Ebay locked my account for acouple of days, cleared everything out and logged in using new password. They also got into my email account and had my mail forwrded, so I wasn't getting email either.

After the last thread on this topic a few months back, I sent eBay a message asking why they can't use double passwords...a Standard one you use for everything all the time and Master one which you never use unless hacked that can over-ride the Standard one to gain control back yourself even if the Standard password has been changed by the hacker..

I was emailed back from an eBay security guy and we had a couple emails that were very positive and he was asking questions to confirm exactly what I thought also admitting it was something they should implement..

Then I got an email from eBay Legal Dept telling me something to the effect of since my first email and thoughts to 'enhance security' was originally unsolicited by them I would not be compensated for it if implemented by eBay and how I needed to start a legal claim if I thought I should be also the message included a buncha' other legal jazz I didn't read closely..

I responded telling them when I had first emailed them I was most interested in the security itself and how I could care less about compensation nor wanted to start a legal case also they should worry more about the legal battles they're going to keep getting hit with if they don't do something soon and how I'd be happy to just have the feature happening on my own account!.

Never heard from them again after that?.

I also had this happen to me when I clicked on an auction for a 1970 Camaro. I got the password and user name screen as soon as I attempted to view the car. My phishing filter alerted me with all kinds of red warnings that I was being let to a phishing site, and I got offline ASAP.

Just remember guys keep you e-bay password different than anything else you use. When they did this to me I was lucky and by fluke my little girl had changed paypal a few months prior. Until then I was toast

Might sound crazy but they seem to be targeting our auctions of rare parts that bring a good dollar value. Wonder are they reading the site for sale when we tell we have items going on e-bay and look for them.
I had 12 items running when I got hit but they went after the 1500.00 fan. Rich has other items running also but they hit the high priced one. Just a thought
