Pure Stock Musclecar Drag Race

Next week is this race that started the trend of showcars racing like they were meant to be. Last year, there were over 130 cars from all brands, including a few Studebakers! To me, it's the best show going because it's like a car show where they race. Where else are you going to see A12 cars going against Yenko Camaros? But don't fret, blue-collar guys, as there's plenty of 383 and 340 cars to keep the event down to earth. Held in Stanton, MI, not far from Lansing, you really have no excuse to not go - people come from Texas and New Hampshire, among other places. If you don't want to bring your car, just come up as a spectator. And if you come up, please stop by the tower and say hello to me!

Oh yeah, will be there for sure, brought stingrays the last 3 years, in keeping with the sea creature motif, I will bring a barracuda this year.

Car is in AZ, where I am now. I haven't driven it in a year. I need to buy a new battery so I should be able to get the cobwebs out of it before Friday.

First event I went to was in 1989/1990 under the name of National Muscle Car Association run by Chuch Green. Quite an event. VERY FEW got into th 12's and the year I went Dan Jensen's T-37 won the 'big block' catagory. Have some great pictures of it and his car.

Shot pictures of engine so I knew where everything went under the hood on my car.

It's happening *this weekend* folks, Friday 9-5 and Saturday 8-5...I encourage everyone to attend and behold the spectacle yourself, whether you bring a car or not...it's literally a car show in motion! I know a 1/2 dozen or so of us from the site will be there beating on our cars, but it would be a short trip for you northern IL/IN/OH folks...I guarntee it will be worth it!
