Default Lead for a BE Rear

Surfing ebay and there is a 69 Firebird and ad says that car has a BE rear but it will not go with the car.

Someone may want to follow up on this one.

Well, how about this one.... It's the auction for the axle that's in the Firebird. Same seller, different auction.

Real BE stamping, and less $$ than Heartbeat City wanted for a restored one.
Dayton OH is the home of the Trans Am Nationals, so the fact that it's under a Firebird is no surprise.
They really like their 'Birds up there.

You are assuming the auction is going to end at the current bid. There are six days left.

Posi springs appear to be the correct natural color and not Green color as are the standard posi springs. I think casting #30174 was a 4 series posi carrier casting # and don't know if the BE rear used a different casting. Spider gears should also be slightly larger than the standard posi. Seller should supply the ring gear P/N if possible to verify the special heat treated 4.10 gear. Axle tube stamping looks good.

Bidding has ended early.
Last bid that I saw was over $7K, at 10pm EDT 5/8.
Somebody really wanted that axle.

For those who have emailed and PM'd me,
I did not bid on or buy this rear.
I don't need any more of them.

All I did was verify the housing and posi as original parts, for the seller and new owner. The r&p set was aftermarket.

Later,
Eric

That date is the same as my 3B built car.
