Default Removing chrome plating?

Is there a way to remove chrome plating on parts that should be painted (fans, pullies etc.)? Thanks

Mark...I have used my blasting cabinet with glass bead in it to get chrome off before. If you can get a piece of the chrome loose, you can get under the loose chunk and kind of peel the rest off. It's not an easy or fast way to do it, but it has worked.

Mark:
The best (and only way, really, if it is good plate) is electrolytically. Take the parts to a small chrome shop and they'll put them in their tanks and strip them quick. Just as the chrome is electroplated, it is "electro -un-plated. They just reverse polarity.
Non-ferrous base metals can have chrome stripped by dipping in hydrochloric acid.
