Default Saddle carpet for 1969 Corvette coupe

I have a problem; I ordered a saddle carpet set from Romeo Engineering in Michigan for my 1969 Corvette. After waiting nearly three months for the carpet I received it last week. O took it out of the box to find a much darker shade of carpet than what I have in the car now and what I had anticipated I'd be receiving. I have contacted Romeo Eng. and they contend that this is the correct color but, all photos of 1969 Corvettes with saddle interior I have seen show a much lighter color than what I have received. (I have attached a photo of the Romeo Eng. carpet compared to the saddle floor mats that I received from Corvette Central)
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can determine what the correct color should be and how I resolve this situation with the vendor?

I'll look and see I think I still have a section of the storage compartment lid from an original saddle int car. Rich

Yea, RowdyRat is an NCRS judge for those years of corvettes.

That would be awesome to hear from him. Either way; I think I am going to sell the carpet since it's not the color I want to put back in the car and I don't think the vendor will be able to get me a replacement in a timely manner (nor do I think they are willing to accomodate me since they feel the color is correct).

Have you tried Ecklers? I've had good luck with them for Vette stuff. Try calling Auto Custom Carpet also for color info.
