I'm responding to a post started back in 2000 which got only one reply.
I am just wondering why you do not hear to much about any 70 chevelles by Motion,Berger,Yenko etc. Am I just not looking in the right places, or was there just not alot of them produced by these companies. ![]() I live about 5 minutes from the old Baldwin Motion location and have recently peaked an interest in Baldwin Motion. I would really love to see some pictures of any BM 70 Chevelles or hear from anyone who owns or has owned one. Thanks for any info |

In 70, Chevy was already building Chevelles with the biggest, meanest, highest horsepower 454 yet, and as a regular production option. IMO it took alot of need away from the "tuner dealers", as you could go buy an SS chevelle at any dealer anywhere and go fast... without the help/cost of a Motion conversion.

that was my initial thought also. But in the previous years the 427s and 396s were the biggest and baddest out there(some say)and there seems to be more of those around. I guess I'm just a little partial to 70 chevelles and maybe feel that they were left out. But I guess,like you said,

But I guess,like you said, ![]() Well Joe thanks for your reply and great looking Deuce Mark [/ QUOTE ] Yes but you couldn't get the "biggest baddest" 427 as an RPO in the chevelle/camaro in 69 which is why there were more conversions than in 70. If you could just go order (or even buy off the lot) a chevelle with the highest horsepower big block from any dealer, there wasn't alot of reason to pay a supercar dealer to do a conversion. This wasn't the case in 68/69...yes there were COPO 427's, but they were alot less known/available than a regular option SS454 in 70.
