Italian Job Yenko

I am new to the board and just learning the ins and outs of Yenko Nova's.
Was looking for a clean 1969 SS 396 Nova but might be interested in a Yenko clone instead.
have you seen that the Italian Job movie clone is for sale ?
does anyone know if this car was built just for the movie or did someone just get lucky and have it used in the movie ?
it is listed as a 1971 clone with a lot of correct pieces etc.. has anyone seen this car in person ?
since no Yenko Nova's were done in black if everything else was correct what does this do for value ?
as a guess what would the prominence of the movie car do to value ??
there is a picture of a black 69 big block clone on this site and someone posted that this car would have been better cloned with an LT1. Handsome Robs car fits this description.
the really nice clean well done clone cars seem to be going off the roof at BJ the last few days so this is an interesting market right now.

any comments would be appreciated.

These cars are worth what a reasonable person would pay for the same car without the stripes. The stripes don't make these cars any more a 'clone' than a beard makes schoneye Santa Claus

Personally, you would be better off finding a nice clean SS396 car, and putting some stripes on it if you wish.

I know my timing isn't great with the Barrett-Jackson auction on everyones mind, but does anyone have any knowledge of the Italian Job movie Yenko clone ?
how clean, how correct ? has anyone seen it in person in the years since the movie has been completed ?
hope to get some insightful information.

Hi Doug,
As you probably saw in the "for sale" section, I'm near Memory Lane Motors and used to work there. What I saw looked good, and Mark Ellis, the owner of Memory Lane, is about as straight-up a guy as you will find. Jim Hughes (NWYENKO) and Charley Lilliard have both done business with him, and I don't think they have any bad tales to tell either. It's a consigned car, not a Memory Lane owned car, for what that's worth. Just ask Mark any questions and ask for any digital pics you might need, and he'll get them to you. Also, his shop is just across the highway from Seattle's main airport, so its pretty easy to fly in/out to make a final decision if you wish. As for value, that's going to be a personal decision for you. With any clone, if that's what you like/want, I think you just have to analyze what it would cost to build one, and see if the price offered is comparable or less, kind of like a street rod purchase. I'm an appraiser so you can PM me if you'd like me to go over the car with a fine tooth comb, understanding of course that I'm very friendly with the dealer (and still friendly with him even though a few of my appraisals have unwound his deals ).
