`67 Chevelle SS `vert

Is there something amiss regarding the vin sequence and the build date on the trim tag?

A Kansas car with a 114 prefix vin should be a Sept.-Oct. `66 build date according to my references, but the trim tag on this one shows an 01D build?

Or am I out to lunch on this one? (wouldn't be the first time)

Just curious.
