Hi everyone,
While the kids are cleaning up all of the remains of the Christmas present packaging, I thought I would see what was new on the forums. While over at the NCRS.org site, I saw a thread that I thought was interesting to say the least and one that might interest many of us here. It seem that someone is attempting to sell a 1967 L-88 Corvettte on eBay and the only problem is that it started life as a small block Vette. The seller has all kinds of claims. ![]() this, as they should be. As someone wrote recently, of the 20 original 1967 L-88 Corvettes, only 50 have been found so far. Funny, but accurate when we think of all of the "Supercars" that are bogus these days. This is my point. Several NCRS members have taken out "bogus" eBay auctions in an attempt to bring the lineage of the 1967 Vette into the light. ![]() You might ask why. Well, this Vette in up to $180,000+ with lots of bidders. See the auctions for yourself. eBay auctions: 1967 Vette auction: 4599356175 1967 L-88 Vette information: 4599943173 1967 L-88 Corvette picture: 8025205353 I think this is an ideal way for us all to police our hobby. I don't think there are any legal issues to deal with here such as slander, etc., since it was handled this way. I would like to know what other members here think about this approach. Maybe with more participation like this in the Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, etc. worlds, we will see the days of the fake cars come to an end. OK, I'm off my soapbox now...... ![]() Steve ![]()
