Default Motion Street/Strip shocks

Saw a BM invoice written as "Street/Strip shocks(AIR)" $100.00; In reviewing the performance guides for 68-69 street/strip shocks are shown with a price of $75.00 and air shocks as not being available; would these shocks simply be the cure rides?

No the rear Cure-Rides were shocks made for Motion ---extra big----------The Air shocks I had were Gabriels along with the air bags they are still around------------In '90 Joel/Motion put Koni all around---I left the airbags in

Now you've really gone out on a limb Joe..... "even Belair"

Were you talking about Gabriel Hi-Jackers?

Do you know the brand of Air Bags used? Do you know of "modern" equivalent? I know there are air bags, used for trucks & RV's, but are they too big?

I popped one of the original air shocks back when and it was replaced with Gabriel air shocks----If Cure ride made air shocks in '69 then I had Cure-Ride air shocks when new-----I'll check --In any case air shocks were available--you can see the air valve on the back of my bumper in the photos of my Chevelle------------The air bags were AIR LIFT---the ones back then were black---today they are red, but they can be dyed if you want--

Joe-
Would the HD air lifts give enough clearance for the Inglewoods? In '69 what other type of shock did Motion sell besides an air shock? Thanks

J series fit O.K, but it wasn't tall enough with the 456/488 rear--We tried grinding the inner rear wheel well lip as close to the weld as possible --you could get the L series underneath then, but you would just cut up the tire on a hard launch-----------The air shocks helped to get the rear in the air to avoid this, but you were defeateding the purpose of larger tires by throwing off the weight distribution by raising the rear up too high----Flaring the rear wheel well brought the car down to the right angle and I could stuff more than enough rubber in tire or slick that I needed------------------------Motion had Koni back then also
