Would like to see better tag pics. The bondo in the rivets makes me curious. Anyone else?

$42,000 seems to me like a steal. If it's legit. The SS 396 convertible's are pretty rare.I don't think there were more then a handfull or two, of gm built RS/SS L78 camaro verts made.

I would guess that even with a replacement motor your still looking at an 70,000-80,000 dollar car...with a date correct motor its over 100K, I just happen to have a motor like that..

Too bad its got a 68 motor in it.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...415611&rd=1 [/ QUOTE ] The 323 block came into production around June of 1967 for the 396/375hp and the trim tag says the car was built 06A not 05A (blew it up on the computer) as he states in the auction so the motor could very well be correct and original. The carb is correct for his application as well and so is the rearend (although 6 months before the car build date). Still a neat car and all things aside very reasonable. Rick H. |

I've havve seen only 3 june of 67 323 cast blocks and they were all cast F87 (june 8th of 1967). The three cars were july built cars all were L78's two camaro's and one chevelle. I doubt this is the orig block....anyone else with an earlier cast 323 block?

Well I did say could be and I have seen some strange stuff with these cars. The car is a June car and the block did come out in June so anything is possible. Would like to know the casting date on this one.
Colvin stated the same thing about the F87 Camaro date but we also know that every once in a while something comes out of the woodwork to put a damper on documentation. That's why we have revisions. ![]() On a side note the seller emailed me stating there are no codes or stampings on the front pad. Removed during rebuild was his guess so the doubt about the block gets bigger. I am also a little troubled with the trim tag as well. Plus there a lot of things wrong under the hood that makes me want to go hmmmm. Rick H. |

I spoke with the seller on the phone...rear axle has no trac bar bracket (as one would expect on a Nov. rear axle), but the car also has no provision for the brace on the floor. Now that really makes me go hmmmmmm.... I suspect we may have a rebody or fake L78 here. I've asked for the casting date and transmission numbers as well as undercarriage pics. I also asked for confirmation of the hidden cowl vin.
