Trying to identify the "FLT" code on my build sheet. The car is a 1970 L78 Nova. Any help would be appreciated.

Could possibly be "Fleet"

Would it be possible that this car was part of a fleet order? Seems unlikely.

FLT is one of those codes that no one seems to know what it means. It has been seen on many sheets, but there isn't a source to positively identify what it indicates.

I have quite a bit of documentation for my car, and have decoded everything except that. I Have always wondered what it meant - guess I'll forget about it.

The "FLT" can and sometimes does refer to a Fleet order..Back in 1993/1994 I ordered a number of B4C (police pursuit package)Z28's for the dealership I worked for. The cars were all ordered on a purchase order through our fleet department, as Chevrolet wasn't building 6 spd cars as quickly on stock or customer ordered cars. We then converted the cars over to retail units, yet they still carried fleet codes on the paperwork..It could be your car was done the same..a way for the dealer to get a car quicker or maybe even for it to be built at all..Just a thought

Way back in time (1969 for example) a fleet car was also one that the dealer ordered for inventory, not for a specific customer. The 69 dealer order sheet has two boxes on it that designates a customer order, or fleet order.

Where on the sheet is this code located?

In the area with all options?

The only reference I find for FLT is in the current RPO list
FLT Sales Processing Option

The code is located between the option codes in box 3 on the first line of codes. There are also a couple of empty boxes below that are labeled "copo f & so"
