Default 68 Yenko hood

Looking for a source for a 68 Yenko (Stinger type) hood for a 68 clone I am building. Also looking for Rallye IIs for the car with the Yenko caps. Any leads?

VFN Fiberglass in Villa Park Illinois makes a nice stinger hood for your car.....the wheels are pretty easy to get....Butler Classics in Wisconsin will sell you a completely restored set for reasonable money...probably cost you as much or more to do them yourself...and the Yenko caps for those wheels are made of unobtainium and if you found a set they would be a whole lot more than you wanted to spend !!!

Any close up pics of those center caps anyone? Are they not reproduced because of lack of demand or is there another reason? Thanks for the info Belair! Next time I take a road trip over your way....I may try and contact you. Nice to meet people in person once in a while!

Speaking of "over your way", great referral over to VFN Fiberglass! They have both hood options (hood pins and bolt on--complete with provisions for the LATCH!), range is from $325-460! Great price! How about an ENTIRE Camaro body for $4,500?

Man! We are leaving for camping this afternoon....otherwise I would really have you bring me one by (a hood, that is!). But, if you want I can tell you where there is a 70-72 Camaro just sitting. Owner tried to sell it in 1994, didn't get any takers and just parked it near his garage! I'll send you a PM with my cell phone # and you can call if you want to know where it is. The 69 LOS car I asked about a couple weeks ago (sitting in a private bone yard) is within 10 miles of the 2nd gen also!). You could look at/pick up both!

Was watching that one, gotta admit I was thinking a good reproduction would be worth half to me. Especially on a clone, no sense in using up real parts on a clone (as long as good repros are avalible), right?

That IS the "cheap" repro hood. If you want a more correct one it will cost you about 3000. As far as I know, these are the only choices for the '68 style hood. If you want a '67 style "stinger" hood, the VFN is a good choice for about 400.

I guess I have to claim ignorance. Does anyone have a pic showing the difference between the 67 and 68 hoods? There is a picture of a 68 Yenko on the cover of the Classic Industries catalog, and it looks to have the Stinger style on it. I assume that is the correct hood for the car.....that appears to be the same as the 67 Stinger style. Educate me?
