I don't know 70's as well as 69, but it looks close. The material on the remans I've seen is funny looking compared to the original, not to say this one would.

That is the correct filler for a 1970, The hood pop-up spring on a 70 is a long flat wound spring that bolts to the top of the support, It lays under the raised portion you see on the filler with a finger off the spring that comes up through the hole @ the center off that raised portion, The originals are fairly tough to find in useable condition, That is a fiberglass repo with a rough finish on the bottom, Kinda crappy,

Your right, Thats looks like it might work nice, A better replacement was needed, The fiberglass part was poor at best.

Performance Years sells a plastic one as well it is a pretty nice repro.

Just make sure you paint it Orbit Orange so that fat hood gap don't look so bad
