Default #1 Team Silver Plate found- Now what is it??

Cool plate. Found at an antique show just this weekend. Silverplating was really tarnished, but cleaned up good.

Looks like late 60's or early 70's.

Anybody know what these were awarded for? Anyway nice addition to the garage wall!

Thanks

Phil

Looks like a sales award item for top sales at a local Chevy dealer. The Zone office would distribute to the winning dealer.Earl

Hey Phil I AGREE, it does look like a Top Sales AWARD. Ginnie got one of those when she was selling for Tim Brown Chevrolet!!! Those were the days, Great times at the Dealership!! Mark

Phil
Thats a Regional sales award issued in 1977.
That one you have there was specifically in Florida.
There was a large Color matching booklet that went along with it.

Rick, thanks for the info, I thought that looked familiar. The Dealership here received one when my wife was selling back in '77 0r '78. The other award was called Legion of Leaders for the Sales-People (she got that). Mark

Impressive!

Were there different awards issued by state? Was Florida's unique?

Thanks again!

In 1977 Chevrolet held their Awards Weekend Ceremony in Florida for the Chevrolet Central Office Sales Department Executives from all over the Country.
This particular award was given to"The Best of the Best",as they called it.
It is a nice item you have there. They Display well..

Aside from the 1970 Chevrolet Cars,my Second Devotion is collecting Chevrolet Awards,Advertising Promotions,Displays & Banners from 1964-1981.
Legion of Leaders has a whole Following amongst itself.
Chevrolet truly showed the Salesmen what they meant to them then. Not like today...
I collect the Merchandise Catalogs for that, and the Jewelry and Diamond rings they offered the Salesmen back then are highly sought after today. Some of the Honored Salesmen take the Jewelry to their graves.Absolutely stunning!
I'm out of the Closet now!
