trans crossmember

I put a Richmond 5 speed in my 69 Z/28, I was told a t-400 crossmenber might work. It almost did, it came up short by 2 inches. The mount will slide back far enough for the mount to e bolted up. Anybody installed a 5 speed in their 1st Gen???? or any suggestions.... Wayne
