Just as a matter of interest, General Motors has been test marketing a new vehicle called the "Buick Lacrosse". Customer reaction has been good except in the Canadian province of Quebec where focus groups had some trouble with the name. "Lacrosse" is francophone slang for "masturbation".Similar to the situation a few years ago when it was learned that "Nova" was a Spanish term meaning "no go". Before learning the meaning , Buick thought it was a safe name because aside from Ice hockey,Lacrosse is Canada's second national sport.I do not want to turn this into a political thread, but as a Canadian who values the friendship and support of our American neighbors I wouldn't be surprised if you all thought we spent a little too much time up here playing "Lacrosse". Hey what happened to the brewery ? They shut it down ? free beer at the end of the tour...too cool...I wonder if the Miami Dolphins were thinking of "flogging your Dolphin" when they named the team...or if the makers of Krakus ham were disturbed about "slamming your ham" LOLOL Now this is the kind of thread you can really wrap you arms around...no wonder you northerners are always smiling...I guess we better not shake hands if we meet Marc

The brewery is still there and running, a group of investors bought it and they brew beer and other stuff there. They make beer called City Brew as well as Colt 45 and some other less known beers. They also brew and package Arizona Ice Tea. So if you visit there you can still take the tour and they still give you free cups of the City Brew....so guess where I'll be... I've got an Uncle in the Canadian Lacrosse hall of fame so maybe I can help on this.
a lot of US Universities & colleges will play field Lacrosse, which is played on a surface the about the size of a soccer field with 10 players per side. Canadians mainly play Box Lacrosse which is played in a hockey rink that has no ice, there's 5 player + a golie per side. it's a rough sport. There is a Pro League accross most of Canada & the Northeastern US States called the "National Lacrosse League" or the NLL, good fun
