Default The current "scoop" on the web site

Well, as many of you know, this web site has had a few techinical difficulties as of late. For the past week, we've been without email, our forum has gone down TWICE and been contaminated once, our counter quit functioning, and worst of all, the tech support at our ISP took their phones off the hook!

Well, I finally got through on the phone, but I got an automated response, that said they are resolving some problems, and won't return to answering the phones until they are finished! But, they provided a web address to some admin pages that could clear up some of the problems. Well, the only problem is, they've changed everyones password, so those admin pages are useless.

I honestly thought our site was the only one experiencing problems until I visited my ISP's forum, and found out that their are literally THOUSANDS of other websites going through the same thing, and worse. Just imagine the sites that are trying to run a business but can't access their email or online stores?!

Anyway, they are switching servers, and upgrading their site's software, but are having some MAJOR problems...bad enough the CEO has issued several "apologies" online hoping to remedy part of the complaints.

So, bear with us, as I'm hoping this thing is straightened out ASAP...

Upgrades can be very painful nowadays. It appears that most companies don't know what "testing" really involves and they just wing it. Hopefully, they'll get it worked out soon.

Hey Rob, I think we all greatly appreciate your work on this site..thx for the update. As someone who maintains a few computers for local businesses, I understand their frustration and yours. Hang in there man...we'll be here behind you.

I agree, Ed. All was well, until they decided to switch servers and subsequently upgrade to newer software. Now, all of their clients are complaining of loss of service. Sadly, a lot of them are online merchants and their online stores have been down for over a week!

They still have 1 more batch of sites to convert, so it may be a while before they get this all sorted out...

Well, for now our email is back up and running. I say for now, because they still have some more sites to switch over, so who knows what else will happen. But, it's starting to look up...

I wish that all the others on here were the same width as this one. Some of them go off the screen to the right where I can't read the last word or two. The scroll control on the bottom will not go far enough to the right to allow me to read the entire sentence. Frustating...!!!
