Here is the pic of my firewall data plate off a rough 69 Camaro RS Z-28 that I bought and need to know more about? Not sure if it is a real Z or not but you guys on here are more knowledgable than I am.
The block is not correct for the car all the numbers I can find on it are it is a 350 with the numbers = "12R517370" then a "T" and a "IL". About all I know it was a Orange car. Console gages, 4 sp. 4:10 12 Bolt, RS grill. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Pantera

Pantera,
The trim tag does not designate your car as a Z28. What is the Vin of your car? |

X44 is base coupe with no style trim group and not a Z28/RS. A RS z28 would be a x33 code..

Yup, it's not an RS and it's not a Z28. Does it have PDB and a cowl hood? What's the axle code on the rear end? What transmission does it have? The 02D date and NOR 278601 number is a pretty wide spread. Makes me wonder if there is something unique about the car.

Definitely not a Z/28; it would have X77 or X33, and not X44. Sounds like a base coupe. I don't believe it's even an RS.

Well I wondered if it was anything good? I guess not. it does have the cowl hood and the other goodies. Of course all of them could have been put on it. I guess I misunderstood that the X was a special car. It does not have the big block heater outlet so I am not sure if it is anything other than just a plain camaro with options. The front end has a RS new grill and the headlights are cobbled in on some kind of strap that didn't come from Chev. There is no place for the lights to mount. I did pick up a set of RS lights at a swap meet for $100 and was planing on using them on this car.

It does have PDB's and the cowl hood. I can see where it had some kind of goofy stripes on the front header in front of the hood. definately not anything factory or like any I have seen. ?some one may have put the RS front end on it. Or it may not be one at all and they just put the grill in it because it was cheap.
later when it quits raining I will try to get the rest of the numbers for everybody.

The non-parallel holes are the standard holes that every tail panel emblem used... Bowtie, RS, SS, and Z/28 emblems all used the same holes. Thats also why Yenko used the staggered positioning of the "427" and "Yenko" emblems on the rear... to utilize the 2 existing staggered holes left when the bowtie emblem was removed.
