Was it sponsored by Gm by chance? The reason I ask is someone from another board didn't believe me that it was a Jon Moss built car and not a GM car. Or did they do it together? Wasn't this actually a early 90 Camaro also?

Yes, it was done in house at Chevrolet, in their Specialty Vehicle program...and yes, it is an earlier Gen IV Camaro fitted with the later (LS-1 years) front end. Moss was just the guy in charge of the whole thing.

I seem to remember a magazine feature on this car in the mid 90s?? The car was built by GM behind closed doors. I remember they also built a 55 Chevy post with updated tech. and a "new" 265 CI small block. The article also featured a couple other special 1-off cars built for fun by the GM team. I can't remember which magazine or which mo/yr, but when I get a chance I can look for it if anyone is interested. I think the 55 chevy has been featured very recently in a magazine also.

Hot Rod and Chevy High Performance have run a couple of articles on that group of cars. They also built a yellow drag race Camaro that I believe was running high 10's or low 11's with a small block. The Black car does have a 572 ci as stated. Motor Trend TV did a show last year where Ford brought their "skunk works" cars out and so did Chevy. The Black Camaro killed the Cobra 'stang that showed up. The 'stang ended up breaking before the day was out. The Black car is awesome from the articles that have been done on it.
