Since I'm restoring my JL8 car as a TransAm replica car, I'm wondering what shocks I should use on the car. Did GM offer Koni shocks or any other brand over the counter for road racing purposes? If so, does anyone know the part #'s or if there's any chance of locating these shocks?

I just read an article about the Penske Camaro in MCR and it stated they had Koni shocks with a Chevrolet part number.

I believe Pete Estes '68 Z/28 convertible had them.

Pontiac Firebird offered Koni shocks as an RPO(regular production option) in 1968 and 1969 as- Koni , adjustable shocks front + rear, upc #634 with a price list of $52.66.I am sure a Pontiac parts book would list part numbers.I will try to look up and post.

Thanks for the information. That basically tells me I can put some Koni shocks on my car and at least be period correct like the Stahl headers, Minilite wheels and crossram.

During restorations of vintage road racers I've found some of the older Konis to be dated. Month and year such as 6-67 and stamped towards the bottom. Both on the single adjustable and double adjustable type Konis.
