Default Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

OK guys. Me again ......

Take a look at the following pics of the carb I just got for Project Biscayne. I'm NOT happy !!

I'm not going to mention where I got it from, as I'm sure most, if not all of you know of the person/establishment. I don't plan on mentioning names either, as I've not given them a chance to rectify it yet. I wanted to get your opinions first, before I raise HELL !

The linkage is OBVIOUSLY an abortion, but I am VERY suspicious of the two DIFFERENT font styles for the number *2* in the 7028210 !! They are not the same. What do you guys think ? Same, or no ? The first 2 looks wider than the second 2 and the other numbers.

Again - I'm going to call to return it, and hopefully swap it out, but wanted some feedback.

Oh man! That doesn't look good, even to my untrained eye.

I would have to agree Casey. It certainly appears the first 2 is a different font than the other numbers. Good luck with your recourse attempts.

Casey, this carb looks like either a replacement or a remanufactured unit from one of the major auto parts chains. Since it is silver in color and the sticker is still on the side of the carb, it is identical to the one I have here that I bought at AutoZone about 10 years ago. The linkage is a definite botch job and the number 2 does look bigger than the rest but I don't think it is a restamp. Also there is not a Julian date code after the EE so that also would lead me to believe it is a replacement carb. One thing that I see missing is the idle vent cover on the top in the center of the carb. Is the idle vent there and the cover just missing?

It seems that these vendors are trying to stick it to people more and more everyday. If you gave more than $25 for it you paid way too much. I hope you get your money back, and I say money as I would not buy or get any parts from this guy again...................RatPack...................

As the Mtn. Dew commercial says, "Tommy, we got hosed."

Sorry to hear it, Case. By the way...check your PM box.

It was NOT Jon Krogh. Thanks very much for the offer though ! I have a voicemail into the *party* right now. We'll see what the response is. I'm fairly confident that it'll get returned without a hitch (I hope ...), it just frosts my ass that anyone would let something like that go out that was going to serve duty on anything more than a clapped out plow truck ........
