Default Lot # 605 at the

I know that the newer "Super Cars" are not as popular with everyone. Did anyone check out the 1979 Chevrolet Camaro "Z-29" (yes Z-29) lot #605 (page58)last weekend in Scottsdale? It sold (no reserve) for $11,500 dollars. I found a bunch of similarities between the "Z-29" and the "Yenko Turbo-Z". Both the "Turbo-Z" and the "Z-29" were conversion cars, both ran in the 14 second range. Both had seat upgrades avail and "trick" stereo options, wheels, suspen etc. I think that Don Yenko's idea was better. What are your thoughts? The car was vin # 1Q87L9l621190 which makes it a 79,350/170 or 175hp (before upgrade)car built in Van Nuys,California plant. The cars had quite a few upgrades. They are listed on the following site: http://www.nastyz28.com/2gcog/stegmi....htm#MACHOZZ29 If you want to see the actual car, go to http:http://www.barrett-jackson.com/aucti....asp?id=165230

I looked at the car and talked to the owner. It still had orig. Goodyear Wingfoot tires. I was gonna try to Bid on it but forgot all about it. It was a nice car but kinda ugly paint color that was Imron. I would have paid that much for it and then wondered why I bought it.

Isn't it funny that they used (and still use) Z-29 designation, since that was the RPO code for the Vega GT?

Yeah, I think that they were trying to make it sound like the work that they did made the car "one up" from a Z-28. I checked the vin on the Z-29, it was a Sport Coupe with a 170-175 hp 350 when it came down the line. I checked out your Vega site. Very neat. If you other guys have a chance it is worth the effort to check it out.

Not a bad price if the car was truly that nice.

I remember when these came out. This is one of the few times they have resurfaced.
