Very odd VIN stamping
I am looking at a 1970 Baltimore Chevelle with a very odd stamp. The stamp on both the engine and transmission match, are directly in line with others of similar build dates but the oddity is that this engine and transmission are both marked with a VIN of 19B198xxx. The Muncie stamp is real and coded correctly as is the engine which also has broach marks. These are on an 06A LS6. Baltimore made a lot of unique stamps in 1970 such as the 100, 108 and 188 prefix so nothing new there. However, I have a very extensive database but have never encountered a 19B used so late in the year. Has anyone seen or have an engine/transmission with this unique stamp? All the fonts and numbers look to be correct on both the Tonawanda and VIN stamps and the broach marks look real and original. I am a firm believer in Never Say Never but this one has me. Any help is greatly appreciated.
