Default Any ideas what a ZL-1 block sells for these days

I have been out of the loop for a while and was a little surprised by what "reconditioned super car engines are going for on ebay. Can anyone give me an idea as to what a clean undamaged ZL-1 block would go for. Only lightly decked still has engine number readable on pad. Thank you

Chevrolet produced just over 500 3946052/053 castings for the 1969 model year. 182 were built into production engines. The other 300+ were sold as bare or partial engine assemblies. Plenty of those around. I wish people would stop re-stamping them with Camaro VINs.

Production-line Camaro blocks [ML, MM] with a VIN are easily the most valuable. There's more than a dozen restored ZL-1 Camaros w/o original block. In some cases, their owners might pay a premium to acquire their 'born-with' engine. Even that has its limits, as one ZL-1 owner passed on his block last year.

Post some pics: casting date and sequence # near the left motor mount pads, machining # at the top of rear block face, pad and casting #. VIN is usually on the vertical rib by the oil filter. Hope the cylinder sleeves are still there.
