Default 1970 Z/28 California Car in Chicago

I don't know anything about a 1970 Z/28, but this caught my eye today.

Damn! That brings back some memories. Almost identical to the one I restored and built only days later on the same assembly line. I just went past his neighborhood on the way home from MCACN. Damn that is tempting!

OK, there is a Lot left un-said there. If you passed, there is a good reason that others may be interested in knowing.

Happy Thanksgiving Rick. Why did you pass because I was really considering a brother to copper head?

By what I could determine from the pics, I think the paint is pretty tough. That added to the black out job on the bottom of the car. I think the car would be a bit disappointing, once you are right in front of it. It looks like it could be a good car to start with, but the price point needs to be adjusted. Just my .02

Because I was looking for a car that I could drive and not take up the next several years to restore it. I wanted to leave it as a survivor. Believe me, this car would make a very nice driver to enjoy for sure. Ever since restoring the Classic Copper Z28 for Mark Mitchell, I fell in love with the second Gen Camaros especially in this color. Those who know me know how anal I am and was hoping for the car to be closer to original than it was. Don't get me wrong, its a beautiful car and the owner was very honest with me but there were just too many small items missing or incorrect that it would bring the total cost up higher than I wanted it to be. If someone was looking for a very nice car the way it sits, this is absolutely it. I just wanted it to be a little better. Napa68 pretty much hit the head of the nail. I did not even ask if he would negotiate the price as it was the first day on Craigs list so only a fool would lower his price on the first day. Time will tell. Love the car however. I think the bottom line for me was that right now my (1 of 2) dogs needs my attention and money more than me getting another car and that is likely what really talked me out of it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
