Nice '65 - and while it's not a great bargain at the asking price IMO, there's a "make offer" button that should make things more interesting.

Post O/D El Camino...

My understanding is the cable actuates a solenoid that engages the gear reduction in the o/d unit. I have seen a few El Caminos over the years with this option. Pretty rare to see one...

Hot Rod had an article of how to add the 3sp OD assy to a Saginaw 4 speed... way back
search found April 74 but can't find the details.

Say you are cruising along in 3rd gear... pull the handle out, let off the throttle, it shifts to overdrive. Push the handle in, let off the throttle, it shifts back to straight 1-1 3rd gear. It makes for a sweet interstate cruiser! - Bill W
