I HAVE BEEN TOLD ALL 8 CAPTIVE NUTS ARE CORRECT AND THEN ALSO TOLD 4 CAPTIVE NUTS & 4 ACORN NUTS ARE CORRECT ??

Acorn nuts were used till around May 1969. There have been some good conversations on this on the CRG with survivor examples if you do a search.

If you take a look at JohnZ's over on CRG, his is one of the nicest untouched Zs and he has pics specifically of the trunk spoiler nuts. He just recently sold it.

The early cars got the acorns and some where around May they got the captive nuts
