Hey guys, do any of you have pics of 15x7 reversed cragars with 10.5" slicks? I'm debating on running my 15x10's or should I do the traditional super stock/ pro stock 15x7's? Thanks!

15x7's with 10.5 inch slicks ? A Pro Stock with 15x7's ?????
Did you fall out of your tree house...... and hit a 70's era FIRESTONE DRAG 500. or A GOODYEAR BLUE STREAK DRAG SPECIAL on 7's Or. 10's , 12's ? & see seven heaven? 10 5's need to be on a minimum 8 1/2 inch wheel Most like a 10" Wheel. Either you referencing a 1/25 scale model car or you're NOT READING VINTAGE SUPER STOCK MAGAZINES. PRO STOCK VINTSGE CARS RAN. 12, 14 INCH TIRES ON EQUIVALENT SIZED WHEELS AS THEY BECAME ALL TUBBED IN A FEW YEARS....

OK relax buddy I have seen more than a few cars running a 15x7 with a 10+ tire, it's the "buldge" look we all love. I wanted to see how they looked on a reverse dish Cragar! It took almost a week to respond and this is what you wrote? And FYI I'm running a 15x10 with a 12.50 tire...

Actually if you look at some early pics of bill jenkins 68' you'll see its a small Rim with a wide tire until the bigger tires came out in the early to mid 70's

I'm talking early 1970 first year pro stock day2_69z not 1974+ when they started with tubular suspension and tubs maybe that was the confusion in my original post.

The bulge in the early pics is an illusion ...
70 era Pro cars all used wrinkle wall slicks..... 8, 10, 12 inch wheels....depending on the slick width. .I'm extremely familiar with competition cars from 68 & on.... 1970 saw alot of back halved big tire cars 1971 saw the debut of purpose built chassis cars all with tubs to accept growing tire sizes. . If Jenkins had 10 to 11" wrinkle walls on a 68 he used a 8 to 10" wheel ,with a slight deep outside fit to clear his ever changing suspension, traction bar, shock placement. Most all his 68 ,69,70. Cars also had enlarged wheel openings , especially in the rear forward area..... 10's on 7's. May look cool.....But Quite Dangerous even with limited Street use & a BIG NO NO ....IF you're gonna spin em hard doing burnouts or launches..... The side walls collapse around bends and corners....the tires are much more prone to rotate on the rim ripping the tube valves.... assuming no screws. Your 12's on 10's is Ok....but the limit. My take on the pseudo day 2 look is just that.... why fake a look whether its tires , gauges , hoods under hood look a likes....???? A TRUE REAL DAY 2 CAR ....STREET n STRIP or DRAG RACE .....IS Done with Period correct parts not just s TRACTION ACTION DECAL & A MALLORY COIL. I'M An Avid Died in the Wool Real World DAY 2 CAR Guy......DAY 2 today seems very watered down where I Like mine Un Cut & Full Strength Just my take......

Not Exactly what pics you've requested....
Here is 10 inch wide rubber x 27 inches on 8 inch wheel with deep back space ....uncut sheet metal..on a 69 Body . 70's have a much bigger opening for a larger diameter tire with more room for width. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

What happen was my original 15x10's are uni lugs and wanted a straight lug and just happen to stumble across a mint pair of direct lug 15x7's....I found a guy that convert my uni lugs into direct lugs with spinning out the old centers welding in the direct bolt pattern ones! |
