Nice that Jerry certified it as a real Copo being a Canadian documented car.

Canadian docs are great in that they can be used to verify that a car with that VIN is a COPO. They do not address whether or not that particular body left the factory with that VIN and trim tag.

Unreal, are you saying a certifcation does address the body being the one it left the factory with??

Yes Chuck, that's what I'm saying. Do you think having Canadian docs is, in and of itself, proof that the VIN and/or trim tag are real, and original to that body?
Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have Canadian docs than no docs, just as I'd rather have an X coded trim tag over a non-X coded one. Both are a good start, but not proof positive. You know that better than me. |

I was addressing the implication that it would be foolish to pay McNeish to certify a Canadian car, At least, that's what I inferred from that comment.

Certifications unless spelled out as such do not generally guarantee against a re-body. JM's often state the originality and authenticity of the trim & VIN tag. There is also generally much more current detailed info on a certification in addition to the GM of Canada info.
