Default 70 chevelle

can you guys help , why does the build sheets of 1970 ss chevelles show ZL3 396 convs . when the red book show 1969 and 1970 as Z25 any help or am i just not getting it . thank you all. for a 396 car

ZL3 conversion was the code to prepare the vehicle as a Super Sport...period.
Z25 was everything 396cid related and be it L-34 or L-78.
Z15 was everything 454cid related and be it LS-5 or LS-6.
