Default 1957 CHEV PARTS AND DEALER ALBUM

I have a chance to pick up a set of 1957 Chev fuelie heads and distributor and an original 1957 Chevrolet dealer album. The heads are in good shape--no repairs or cracks. The distributor is dirty and might need a rebuild. The dealer album is complete and I would rate it as an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.I'm not a dealer, this is something that has pretty well fallen into my lap.I know nothing much about '57 Chev stuff or what these items are worth or what I should offer. The person that has these items is not actively trying to sell but says for the right price he will let them go.He's 70 and has been sitting on 'em for 30 years.I can't find a dealer album on Ebay and only 1 set of fuelie heads.Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Bill.

If they are 57 heads, the casting number is necessary to tell if they have any real value. The 283 horse FI engine used the same casting number, 3731539, as garden variety four barrel passenger cars. Not much value there. The heads for 57 220, 245, 250 and 270 horse Corvette engines used 3740997. The 997's are the ones that are in demand. Without the actual casting number, you are just whistling in the dark. A fuel injection distributor will run into the several thousand dollar area most of the time. Even on the distributor we would need the numbers to give you an accurate estimate.

The dealer album various quite a bit in price depending on condition. I would say if complete and the color and fabric swatches are in good condition it would retail between $500 to $800.

Thanks for the info guys.Going to talk to Ted some more this week and get some numbers. He also has an early '60's fuel injection unit that he ''might''be interested in selling.Being a novice on these parts I don't want to overpay.
