Default Fuel Injected 57. How many?

I know there is probably no definitive answer.

Surely someone has a good idea, or at least a range.

I have seen the number 484 for the Corvettes.

I am asking about the others.

And while I am at it, I need to do some 57 Chevy research. Where is the best 57 site?

Thanks in advance.

Lynn, I believe there were right around 1040 corvettes total of all the possible HP FI car combos , and 1530 total of all the passenger car models combined in 1957 . 68 of them being convertibles[passenger] . I have the breakdown on the other models like nomads, sedans etc etc somewhere . Ill try and dig it up. I did alot of reaserch a few years back on these. chevytalk.com and trifive.com are 2 good sites. Im sure there are others I believe in the corvettes the ratio of 283HP vs 250HP FI was over 2 to 1 believe it or not[720 plus to around 300]. Im guessing the reverse is true on the passenger car models. Like they say, "of the 68 Chevrolet convertibles made, 300 are left, all red or black."

Thanks Chuck.

While on the subject, what is the difference between the 250 horse and the 283 horse?
My guess would be camshaft. Is that correct?

283 hp also had more compression, to go along with the solid lifter cam.

283 hp had the inexpensive heads casting 539 , the 250HP had the 997s. Units were different. Solid vs hydraulic cam . Oddly there isnt much difference in value between the 283 HP vs the 250HP, probably because most people know 99% of fuelies are fake, and the 250HP is more believeable as the 283 hp are usually the motor of choice for made up cars.
