Anybody ever see tailpipes like these? In 74 I bought a 69 SS 350 and there were tailpipes just like these on it. About 15 years ago I acquired this set and not sure what to do with them. Any ideas??

yeah...they must be some kind of rare aftermarket something or other. Like I said, I have only seen them twice.

Those are Walker aftermarket tailpipes. Walker offered them in chrome and bare metal and they were straight cut not angled like OEM.

I don't have access to them at the moment, packed away in the garage somewhere but one of the pipes had a number stamped in it and one didn't as near as I can remember. Does yours have numbers stamped too?

I still have one nos drivers side pipe that has been with me through several moves. Bought it when I was working parts sometime before 1987. I can't date it any closer than that but that was when I last worked at a store that sold AP/Merit brand pipes and mufflers. This was the last one I could get as they had discontinued both those part numbers. I always took a pair to swap meets around this area. Anyway... there is a number, 82013374, stamped about 4 inches from the end that goes to the muffler. Doubt that it would show up in a picture since it's hard to read due to the reflection and being located mostly on a slight bend.

I'll check mine but that number looks familiar. Seems like the chrome holds up well on these pipes. The metal is pretty thick too. Mine are dirty and have paint over spray but will clean up nice and there is muffler flange still needing to be removed yet. Not sure how I want to tackle that job. It's a shame I don't have anything to use them on. Wall art.

Gary, I sold those pipes on eBay about ten years ago. The pictures are just from my eBay file so I cannot help you with any part numbers stamped into the pipes.

I worked for a parts store when I got out of the Army and AP made a chrome set for the 69 Camaro and also the 70 Camaro. In the day they were cheap and a lot of first and second generation Camaros had them installed. They were packaged in a clear plastic bag for protection.
