I pulled the gas tank from my 69 Z a few years ago looking for a possible build sheet that may have been stuffed on top and to generally look underneath for any possible problems. Looking around I found this on the driver side, as you can see, by the drain plug going up into the well.
Any ideas what is or what it's for? ![]()

Is it my imagination or does it look like there is a bolt broken off in it? Could be the heavy undercoating that was applied too.
