There is a El Camino SS over here that looks like a 1970 but has a 1969 VIN.
My question is if there are any differences in the body from the firewall and back on these two years. I mean is it possible that someone has changed the front on it to make it look like a 1970? Jan |

Yes...The front clip and doors will interchange.

One quick look at the dash gives a switch away. Dash in a 69 is mostly metal.

I also heard that there is a tiny difference with the taillights.

Yes! The 68-9 had the side marker light in the quarter panel and the 70-2 put it in the tail light assembly.

Entire tail light assembly is different on 68/69 vs. 70-72, as are the tailgate moldings.

Thanks for the info, this one apparently has 70's rear fenders.
