A good friend of mine has a 1970 LS6 bare block. He received the block from the son of an elderly gentleman who passed away recently. The elderly gentleman had the LS6 block for many, many years and kept it in dry storage. It is a standard bore block that looks to have been aligned bored at some point. It will probably need to be bored 20 thousands just to clean up the cylinder walls from setting. Here are the casting numbers and stampings on the block:
Block Casting Number: 3963512 1970 454/450HP Block Casting Date: K5 or November 5, 1969 Pad Stampings: T0112CRV T Tonawanda Plant 01 January 1970 12 12th day of January 1970 CRV 454/450HP 4-Speed Special Hi-Perf. Pad Stampings: 10B139--- 1 Chevrolet 0 1970 B Baltimore Assembly Plant 139--- Sequence Number My question for the forum… Is there anyone who keeps records of or has a list of those 1970 LS6 Chevelles that do not have their original engines as this is one here? |
