Default 1969 Camaro Dark Green Seats and Interior

I have an opportunity to buy some legit dark green seats and interior. This set has all the seats, headrests, dash and door panels, right down to the original paper "insulation" that was put in the car. Now, I am not exaggerating when I say that these seats are impeccable. Not one rip, tear, crack or other blemish. They are pristine! The owner took great care in making sure that the seats never had any damage. I'm looking to purchase these to put in my car and I have no idea what to pay for them. They are ORIGINAL and perfect. Because of the color and the condition they are in, the seller wants top dollar, but I don't really know what they're worth or what I should pay. The guy seems to know his stuff and states that he CAN get top dollar for them. I've heard stories of people paying thousands of dollars (which I'm willing to do if necessary) just to get original pristine interior especially in these "different" colors. Is there anyone out there that can help?

Thanks.

Black interior would bring top dollar. I don't think there is a line of guys looking for green interior.

I have an original green interior in my car now. ALL orignal stuff like that is hard to come with some colors bringing more. Original dash pads in good shape are really tough. I would call Jim Stubbing at Heartbeat City or even Brian at SCW and maybe Camaro Specialities Bob Harris in Buffalo and see what they would want for one or what they would pay for a complete DG interior. If you really need it, go for it.

I like the midnight green interior. I do have an extra set of really nice front and rear panels. I'm sure they are not as nice as the ones that you are describing though. The seller has to price his interior - otherwise, whatever you propose will not be enough. If that dash pad is original and nice - I'd guess at least $2,000.00 for the package. If it was black - a LOT more.

----A couple of things to remember. 1,Do you have any other interior for the car that you can sell to offset the cost? 2,I cant remember if you said, but does he have the original carpet as well? Nothing like good (or even just above average) original carpet. As well,,,You didnt say weather it was deluxe interior or standard. I assume standard, but if its deluxe snap it up fast. The $2000 range would be about what I would consider fair for both parties as well.
----Also,,,I sure hope he doesnt visit this website and see your comment about paying up......Bill S

I don't see an asking price. How much does the guy want? His idea and your idea of "top dollar" might vary. I would try to get him to say what he wants and go from there. If he says $5000.00 you have your work cut out for you and some decisions to make. If he says $2000.00 things should go rather easily. I'm a freak for white interior myself, but to each his own. I agree with the others that say Black might be the most preferable, but if you NEED that Dark Green and the seller knows it, all bets are off. Just remember this: When negotiating whoever talks first usually loses, that's why I say to let him give you a price before you make an offer. If you really want it, and it's the right color for your car, it really doesn't matter what other people think it might be worth---it boils down to what do YOU think it is worth, and how bad you want it. There is NOTHING like original and if you bought every piece that is included from a Camaro vendor, how much would that be? Sure it would all be new, but again, there is NOTHING like original. I'm not trying to sound crass here, just my opinion.

Yea, you guys could be right. Here, we try to help a fellow member and we get hoodwinked? The guy asking only has one post, so maybe he is trying to "play" us. If he IS the seller, then we could/should reverse the tables. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and every once in a while it comes back to bite me.
