Default Exhaust sleeve/inserts for packing gaskets

Anybody know where I can get the sleeve that goes in the head pipes that holds the packing donut for stock exhaust manifolds? The GM part number is 3748781 69 AIM page 115 UPC 8 A2 shows them as extension #3

In my experience, Gartner won't sell individual pieces.

Yep. That's what I was told. I have an exhaust system already installed. When I removed the old nasty hedders for exhaust manifolds I found out I was missing some important pieces, so I'm looking to replace everything between the head pipe and the manifold . No one seems to carry everything all in one shot to purchase and I have yet to find these inserts.

Try your local muffler shop. I am pretty sure they will stock them. If not they can simply make one.

Nothing is local where I live. There is one place I can check close by but for the most part things have to purchased on line or get things done at a nearby dealer. I gotta go to Philadelphia just to have a starter rebuilt.

What he said. We used to make those in the 70's. Just start with the next size smaller pipe cut to length, and put it in the expander. Takes about two minutes. Take your donut seal with you so they will know what size to make it. All you need is something to keep the donut from collapsing.

You would not believe how hard it is to find those extensions. It's like trying to find a starter nose, #1968122, I've been looking for for my 69 Z28 starter. Every time I find a website to order one I get email back in a few day saying not available. Gee whiz.

Sent out a few inguiries today to some exhaust system shops just waiting to hear back. It's a joke trying to get stuff around my neck of the woods. Even the last local speed shop shut it's doors last year. You gotta go out of state to find anyone that does good machine work.

I just recently bought those from the Car and Truck shop in Orange, CA; http://www.scribd.com/full/90863314?...olpm9w3h7s1m1t. Page 181 of the Camaro catalog; $13 a piece and they fit good.
