Default Shaun's (galveston) SS427 featured in Hemmings!

So good to see Shaun's beautiful mount get its deserved lime light! This is featured in this month's (Dec '11) edition of Hemmings Classic Car. This beast is a real treasure with patina and brute power all over it! Those who have met Shaun probably wouldn't suspect that he can transform into a teenager when he gets behind the wheel of a high horse automobile. Minutes after the shots were taken at the train yard (anyone remember this setting with another Chevy?), Shaun was driving me back to his shop when we stopped for the light at Chandler Blvd and Cooper Road. Jeff K. and Eddie M. were behind us in Jeff's van with all the photog. equipment in it. Without warning, Shaun lit up those 14" white-wall tires for all they were worth as we hurtled northward back to Shaun's. What a hoot! Once the tires stopped squealing, the SS pulled like a freight train. Very memorable. "Hey Shaun, you check for cops?" "Uh, not really."

I met Shaun, albeit briefly, and I believe that... he has that "twinkle" in his eyes

The '66 is his brother in laws car he bought new with an L72 4spd.
These families were into high pref. cars in the era, the L72 was sold for a ZL1 69 camaro he bought new, owned for a few months then stolen and replaced with a 69 SS-RS Camaro L78 Baldwin auto-Motion modified and still owned by a family member today, It has not seen the light of day in 30+ years!
NO IT'S NOT FOR SALE and YES I'M ON IT!

Here is the original purchase order that Gordan saved and sent me this last week. It took three months from order to ownership and just about cancled the cars build. Glad he didn't!
