Default 64 Thunderbolt at Barrett-Jackson

Anyone have any info about the maroon & gold 64 Thunderbolt (supposedly #10) that is going to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale? This was supposedly originally owned by Mickey Thompson and had a special set of aluminum hemi heads installed on it. Just curious if there are any known "issues" with this car, as I know someone who is interested in it. Thanks in advance

Bill, Colin Comer just wrote an article on '64 Thunderbolts in the latest issue of Sports Car Market. I would check with him as I would expect him to either know the car or be able to point u in the right direction. Good article btw.

The car was done in the late 80s/early 90s, redone later. Rebody wasn't as dirty a word then, and it appears that's what happened to the M/T Hemi TBolt. If you look at this thread on the HAMB, you'll see that the car didn't look like anything that needed to be rebodied, unfortunately. Pics are post 1887, on page 95 of the thread. This link should get you there. Dennis K, who pipes up in the thread, is the be-all, end-all guy for early 60's Ford drag car paperwork and documentation, and has 1 or 2 Thunderbolts himself, IIRC.
