![]() If you can't find anything, the great Ron Tonkin was absorbing Portland area dealer operations around this time period which Ed Rendell may well have been one of? Excellent article about Tonkin's auto exploits here, a very Max Hoffman like guy on the cusp of importing future best selling offshore vehicle brands into N. America including Hondas/Toyotas/Ferraris/Saabs etc. http://www.fundinguniverse.com/compa...mpany-history/ Good luck w/ your research and congrats on a very cool Z-28...the CB paint puts it over the top! Got a call back today from Bob Wentworth, dealer principal of Wentworth Chevytown.
Dealer location a 107 E Grand, Portland was known as Fields Chevrolet, prior to 1967. Some members of the Fields family were killed in a plane crash around 1967 and GM would not allow the franchise to be held by Mrs Fields, so the business was then known as Ed Randall Chevytown, as Ed had been the General Manager. Mrs Fields must have still had a financial interest as the info I got was she sold to Wentworth in 1977. The same day I got the NCRS shipping report I scored aN Ed Randall Lisc plate frame on ebay. Fellow I bought the car from owned it since 1972, he purchased it from a used car lot in Salem. Today I spoke with Oregon DMV and found out I can purchase a sanitized vehicle History report from them for about $35.00 with the various options
