Default New Member Test

Just wanted to check and see if my sYc stars are showing up and that my signature is working.

I'm a long time lurker who finally decided it would be a good idea to support such an incredible site. I don't own what would qualify as a "Supercar" but I certainly love reading about them here. I do, however, hope to own one someday.

I spend most of my time over on Team Chevelle, and after seeing that many of the members over there were also supporters here I decided to check it out. I'm definitely glad I did. While TC has a wealth of information about Chevelles, the vintage racing and high performance information over here is incredible. I especially loved reading about how many rare hi-po vehicles were sold new here in Ohio. Makes me hopeful that I will someday come across a rare supercar hiding away in a local garage. One can dream, right?

Anyway, thanks for running such a great site. I'm more than happy to support it.

Welcome Alex. Can't have too many "Buckeyes" 'round here, AND a Chevelle guy to boot.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I updated my location to be more specific.

I live in the fairly small town of Canal Fulton. I'm about dead center in between Akron and Canton.

Good deal Alex. We've got a bunch of guys from your area on the site. I hail from Canfield, about 50 miles east of you on rt 224, but am now out west. Quite a collection of bowties you have there!

Alex
Sent you a PM with my # if you feel like talkin' cars, I'll even talk about a Chevelle now and then. We will have to get you up to Solon some Tuesday night to meet some of the local Cleveland area boys, Grady "1969grb" Phil "Woj" and Rich "Mr Chevy", all Chevelle guys too.
I live right up the road from you just off SR 241 a mile into Green and just west of the airport.

Mike

I've seen Alex post on Team Chevelle. Good guy! And he's got some cool rides, too!!

Maybe he should submit one or two for Members Rides...which I have to get back to doing now that the new job is going well!

Best swap meet in Ohio! Well, it used to be pretty good anyway, I haven't been to Canfield in a few years. I really wanted to get out there this spring but just couldn't make it.

I guess I have my dad to thank for my bowtie affliction. The 71 Monte in my sig was my dads first new car. He walked into Burt Greenwald Chevy in 1971 when he was 18 and bought it right off the showroom floor. I still have the original window sticker and POP with my grandpa's name on it!

She may be just a lowly 350-2 bbl car but she only has 65,000 original miles and is clean as can be.

In reality I love all muscle cars. Don't tell anybody, but if I could afford it, I would probably be a Mopar guy.

I got your PM thanks Mike. It would be cool to talk old cars sometime and meet some of the forum members. I actually have yet to make it out to any cruise-ins since I bought any of my cars. Believe it or not the longest I've had any of my cars (aside from my dads Monte) is two years! I got bit with the Muscle Car bug and when prices dropped I went a little crazy. Thanks for the kind words Bruce. I just try to keep my nose out of internet bickering and things like that. I join forums like these to learn about american muscle and chat with people who share the same passion for these old hunks of iron as I do.

As far as the Members Rides...I've read many features in that section and can tell you that none of my rides are as nice as those feature cars.

I would definitely consider it for my 69 at some point as it seems that people like seeing a Burnished Brown w/Parchment bucket interior 4-speed (non-console) Chevelle SS. It's just not a combo that is seen very often, and I'm absolutely in love with it. There are just so many little details that I want to get done on that car that it drives me crazy sometimes. There are a few missing trim pieces, incorrect underhood items, and the previous owner felt the need to raise the rear end up with the wrong springs. These are all things I just haven't had the chance to correct, and they make me camera shy.

I'm now in the process of pricing and building a new 48x64 garage. I somehow lost control and ended up with more cars than I have space for. Once I get that done and can comfortably work on my cars again, I would love to have a Members Ride feature here!
