Which Camaro shifter is correct?

I am restoring a 68 big block Camaro and am not positive which shifter it should use. I have added a few photos of two shifters I have available but am not sure which if either is correct. This again is a 68 big block, Muncie, non-console Camaro. Would someone please let me know which shifter if either and also if the mounting plate is correct? Photos are a plus if you have them. Also, what are the lever and rod numbers for the same as I will need these if anyone has them? One of the shifters I have has a 3 1/2" offset while the other is about an 1 1/2" offset. I have been told both of these are 68 Camaro but I am not sure. The larger offset also has a "T" stamped on the handle about 1/3 the way up. I don't recall seeing that before. Thanks in advance.

The first shifter (1 1/2 offset) is for a Nova. The second shifter as well as the mounting bracket is correct for your Camaro. The levers and rods are being repoped as the originals are getting pretty hard to find. The original levers have 1-2 and 3-4 stamped on them respectively. The reverse was plain - no stamp. The rods have no numbers on them. The 'T' on the handle appeared on both Muncie and plain handles.

Wow. Deja vue all over again. Saw your fourth pic of the bracket that mounts to the cross member and got a cold shiver down my spine. Not sure how many times I crawled under that car with channel locks to get the thing out of two gears. Really fun when it is wet out, or worse yet, with snow on the ground.

Ended up pitching the whole thing.

Thanks for the infor Craig. So far two people have confirmed the second shifter as being correct and the first is for a Nova. I was not sure and wanted to verify. I appreciate the help.

Glad to be of help Rick and a little more info to note: The rods and stabilizer shaft for big block are differant then the small block ones. This is noted in the 68 assembly manual under UPC M20 A3-4. The reverse rod and stailizer shaft have very noticeable offsets in them although this isn't shown in the manual. I have never found a differance in the other 2 rods. To my knowledge, the BB rods and shaft have never been repoped. The current repops are correct for SB only. I haven't seen BB rods and a shaft at a swap meet in many many moons and chances are most guys wouldn't recognize them. I wish I had taken photos of all the BB & SB shifters I have rebuilt and restored over the years but most guys only cared about a Hurst. I did however make accurate tracing of the rods, levers, shafts, etc. I often wonder how many of the HIGH $$ restored BB Camaros actually have the corret shifter, rods and shaft in them.
