I asked that question a few years ago as I purchased a MN block with 842 aluminum heads on it. The answer is no. All L72 COPO motors had iron heads from the factory. Aluminum heads could have been purchased and installed at the dealership.

Thanks Chaz and Kurt for the info. I thought that as well but wasn't sure. I saw this car on Monday and the owner wasn't sure if it came from the factory that way or not. It's a cool looking ride. I believe it's Olympic Gold. One other interesting thing I was told about it, it's a vinly roof delete car. The roof is painted white so from a distance it looks like vinyl but when you get up close it's paint. The interior is white as well. I'm going to be seeing the guy again at the end of the week and will let him know.

I don't believe there are any documented two tone copo's.

There was no such thing as "Vinyl Roof Delete" what you refer to is the option of two tone paint, the trim tag in your case you read 65 50 PNT for Olympic gold lower paint and Dover White upper paint.

Can you provide a picture of the Trim Tag and the car? And the VIN?

Thanks

Jan

I will see what I can get in terms of pics. It's not my car but I will be seeing the guy tomorrow. He's a collector and says this is a COPO so this could a real documented two tone paint option. He bought the car out of Georgia a few years back.

Just an FYI there has been a two tone copo through auctions, that was determined not to be a copo. I do not recall the colors. It may or may not be this car. Maybe other can add to this info.
