L78 Oil Pressure switch reducers

I need to know if these are available or if anyone else has had trouble finding them. I have attached a pic out of an assembly manual that shows these. They may be made of brass and connect the oil pressure switch without gauges to the 45 degree brass elbow on the block of L78 and possibly L72, LS6 without gauges. I have found ones simiular on plumbing type company web sites. Is this possibly the only alternative to finding these. The book shows one as a connector and the other as a spacer. The Parts and Illustrations manual refers to Group 8.9XX which is not
actually in the manual as I have found with most hardware shown in the Illustrations part. I guess the parts dept. at the dealerships only had access to Group 8.9XX or bins of hardware or had to order the hardware if you needed something. Any help in pointing me in the right direction to obtain these would be appreciated. I have not seen these available in the aftermarket, Used or NOS. Thanks Kim

Bill...I have the 45 degree elbow. I did some more research and found that they used these (2) Reducer, Spacer or Connector on the U17 Gauge package cars also. And was used on the L35 and L34 cars also with a different 45 degree elbow. Another question I have is the aftermarket reproduced elbows do away with the use of these and are already reduced for the sending unit or manual oil line. Any info help would be greatly appreciated. I got one from one of the resto houses for my L72 (Rick's I think). I remember looking at an original, and thinking it looked pretty darned close to the one I bought, but I did not have them side by side, so it may not have been "exact".......just looked it up in an 08 Rick's catalog. Part # RC-321.

Thats the 45 degree elbow. (RC-321) I have that same part. I need the (2) reducers. See attached pic. I have not been able to find them from any of the aftermarket companies. I may have to go through a plumbing supply place that carries brass fittings. Thanks anyhow.

I guess I should have read more carefully. I think all the connectors are NPT, so I'll bet you can find them at your local ACE. They have a whole display of brass fittings in the plumbing area.

My set up is idiot lights, not gages, but I'm almost positive my sender fits directly into the elbow, without the reducers. Not saying that is correct, just that I'm not using reducers.

Unreal I appreciate your response's. I feel GM did not need to add all of these myself. I would rather have the sending unit go directly into the the 45 degree elbow. As I stated earlier the parts are the same if you have warning lights or gauges. I was wondering if they made the 45 degree (repro) to do away with these but would accept a larger threaded sending units. My 1969 and 1970 assembly manuals both show these, I may take your advice and see what ACE has to offer. Thanks

I have gauges in my 69 L-78 ElCamino, and there are no reducers. The sender screws directly into the 45 elbow. My 68 has reducers, but thats because the factory oil gauge is mechanical. I got those reducers at NAPA. The store by me has a big drawer unit full of fittings.
