I have used VHT for various things but not a muffler (Cherry Bomb Glass Pack). The color is a glossy bright red. I looked at VHT's website and the paint that I feel would be appropriate for a muffler was a matte finish. Any experience with what I need?
Thanks! ![]()

Maybe VHT has a gloss clear to use over the flat red?

I think they do have clear gloss - just not sure if it matches the hi temp rating of the paint beneath it. I'll check into it. Thanks for the idea!

Sam, Rustoleum makes a high temp paint for exhausts that comes in a flat finish. I just saw it the other day at Auto Zone they had red and orange. I am having the same dilemma for the overspray, chevy orange engine paint, on the exhaust manifolds to duplicate the factory look. I am trying to find something that will match the engine enamel used on the motor but high temp. All I could find in high heat was the flat orange finish. I was looking for more of a gloss. Maybe I should research what VHT has...
