A while back, maybe a year or so, there was a thread about restoring bolts. It was basically about cooking them in oil. I can't find that thread. Does anyone remember the process, and whether it works well long term?
I'm redoing some things on my 68, and one of the problems is phos plated bolt heads rusting. I rather not replace original bolts, just because of surface rust. I could easily blast/paint them, but thats not really the original look I'm looking for. |
